Time for the next Houston must-try spot babes! I had the joy of Citizens kindly gifting this experience to allow me to share some crowd faves with you all and hopefully do their delicious food and drinks some justice!
WHERE TO GO:
That being said – it’s time to try Citizens of Montrose in Houston, TX for brunch this week!

WHAT I ORDERED:
For brunch we were treated to a few extras to try so we could share their options with y’all! This “What I Ordered” was particularly special because WOW did they go all out!
For drinks:
+ hot classic coffee: classic for a reason, very flavorful
+ mexican coke: coke is great, mexican coke is better lets be honest
+ velvet latte: made with beet for the beautiful coloring and decorated with a kitten, the looks were incredible and the taste truly lived up to the aesthetics
+ matcha latte: the panda latte art is STUNNING and for any matcha fans this is a must-try in my opinion
+ nitro cold brew: the way we finished this in no time! delicious, refreshing, 10/10
+ fluffy drinks x2 including a pineapple marg drink and an orange one called the golden hour: if you want to skip the mimosa in favor of a fun brunch drink, these hit PERFECTLY. they feel light but still have some *zing* with the flavors! The “fluffy” part is yummy too
For food:
+ miso chicken salad with wild rice, almonds, blueberries, kale: perfect for any fans of clean natural ingredients and earthy tastes, also the miso chicken was on point
+ banana bread french toast: they recommended this to us as a fave and WOW for good reason! it was an absolute delight: fluffy and flavorful without being dense or feeling heavy. there were even carmelized bananas!
+ classic french toast with fruit: a great classic, done to perfection, syrup was delicious
+ breakfast chorizo burrito: my husband said it wasn’t too spicy *to him at least*, also he said it was flavorful and a very playful take on breakfast burritos, he was a big fan
+ fries with yuzu aioli: DELICIOUS, so good we literally took home the leftovers and reheated them again the next day and they were still just sooooo fantastic, make sure to try the aioli!
WHY ITS COOL:
If you want to feel like the cool girl at brunch surrounded by glam wall designs, organic touches like warm woods and a plethora of plants, and grand large window walls, then Citizens is your place to try this weekend!
Even if you aren’t looking for top-tier aesthetic restaurants, the FOOD and DRINKS will be worth the trip I promise! Its Australian brekkie vibes are different too and I think add a special touch to the experience.
Even going to the bathroom is an experience!
The restaurant’s energy keeps you having fun from start to finish. I’d recommend it to friends, family, anyone!
